You mention running it all as one user, which is something I've tried to do but can't get sonarr to run if I change the user in systemd/system/rvice. The group id is correct, filesystems are correct, but sonarr won't write. However, sonarr still can't write to that folder. I altered them to 777 and it reflected in the filesystem. I did go through fstab and noticed the permissions are set there.

If possible - and given that SMB is working fine on all machines except for sonarr - I'd rather not rebuild the whole thing and figure out whatever hiccups my Windows machine has with NFS. In the past, however, I did get it to work over SMB, which is doubly annoying now as I can't seem to replicate that. I have tried chmod 777 on the folders (didn't work, they're stuck at 770 for some reason), I've tried usermod -a -G smbgroup sonarr (/etc/group seems to be OK), and I've tried changing both User and Group in /etc/systemd/system/rvice to my regular user. I think the key line is the first one - Root folder path '/mnt/SMBShare/Series/' is not writable by user 'sonarr' - but nothing I do seems to enable Sonarr to write to that folder. Sonarr can read the share as well I can select the relevant folders when asking it to add new series.
I can read and write on it just fine using my regular user as well as a Windows machine on my network. The share itself works fine I can access it from RasPi B just fine. RasPi B mounts that Samba share and runs Sonarr RasPi A is connected to an external USB drive and runs a Samba server Hey guys!
